Starter Locs
Starting at $180
Starting your locs the right. We use the palm rolling technique for our starter locs. This involves the stylist using a fine tooth comb to part and comb the roots. This Loc God technique is what creates our signature manicured look! The shaft of your loc is then comb coiled or two strand twisted down. The price is determined by the length of your hair. Wash and detangle is an add on and is $65.

DETAILS
We take great pride in our work at The Loc God Salon and each stylist has been trained to master The Loc God way. Here’s some information on what to expect:
-
Wash and Detangle is optional. This service is an additional $65 charge.
You can arrive with your hair already washed and partitioned.
For those who would like us to provide this service, we use our signature Loc God Shampoo + Conditioner for the wash.
For those with scalp psoriasis, we recommend bringing your medicated shampoo that your doctor prescribed.
For those with sensitive scalps, please let our staff know and we will use our Unscented Line which provides the same results but is more gentle as it has no essential oils.
Your hair will be detangled using Loc God Detangler.
-
After misting and oiling your locs with Loc God Products, we start to part your hair.
We start from the back of the head. Your stylist will ask about your desired thickness for each loc.
Hair texture plays a huge part in determining the final thickness and your stylist will discuss this with you.
You will receive the parting style you booked.
-
We use two methods at The Loc God Salon. We go based on hair texture.
For those with straight or loose curls we tend to go with the two strand method as your those with that hair texture might find their hair unraveling.
For those with coily and kinkier hair, we choose the comb coil method. If you have coily hair and would like to use the two strand method instead, please notify your stylist.
-
After your hair have been fully parted and the starter locs have been placed, your stylist will ask if you would like a style.
This is highly recommended.
A style keeps your starter locs protected so they don’t unravel. We would recommend barrels.
Two strand style (not two strand starter locs) cannot be done until your locs have budded.

We recommend misting and oiling your
What Are Instant Locs?
Instant locs refer to a method of creating fully formed locs using a crotchet method. Instant locs look like matured locs the moment they are crocheted.
Starter locs, on the other hand, don’t take on the appearance of actual locs at first.
When you add other hair to the loc then it’s considered as a loc extension.
Since instant locs are created one by one with a crotchet needle, they take a very long time to install. For a full head of instant locs, you can expect to be in the chair for 6 hours or more.
